What is it like working at McCoy Global?
It’s been a wonderful privilege to work here at McCoy Global. In my other jobs that I have worked at in the past, I have never had any of those jobs have the type of work culture that McCoy Global has to offer. Everyone here has been very helpful and friendly. I have never felt any kind of hesitation to ask anyone for help if I need it. Even my supervisor or Plant Manager have always made me feel welcomed and comfortable to ask them for anything. What makes McCoy Global even better is how structured and organized everything is. From working on jobs, too finding tools/parts, everything has its spot making it very easy to do what you need to do.
What’s your favorite thing about your job?
One of my many favorites of this job must be the news skills that I have acquired over just these few months that I have been here. Soldering, being able to read Product Drawings, new knowledge of various tools, troubleshooting on both electronics and hardware and many more skills were learned through working here. There have been many instances where something needed fixing at home that I would not have been able to fix if I hadn’t worked here.

Best work culture.
Which of the MCBs is most important to you and why?
We have each other’s back, as I have explained earlier, work culture is a huge plus for me. For everyone to “have each other’s backs” means that if one certain fail, then we all fail. Same goes for if one person succeeds. This is a big deal when it comes to team growth because in a situation where “we all fail”, we always strive to improve on our own personal mistakes as well improve our dynamic as a team. This can only lead to being better at what we do and work better as a team. Constant improvement.

Productive Efficient Teamwork
Which of the MCBs is most important to you and why?
We have each others’ backs. Our team is small here in Cedar Park and oftentimes we all must wear a lot of hats. The only way we have been able to make it as a team these past few years has been in by assisting each other. Everyone has strengths and being able to come together and share the burden across the production floor has made the team more efficient and resilient.

Personally, McCoy has been with me through some of the biggest changes in my life. Shortly after starting at McCoy my first daughter was born. McCoy has given me the ability not only work in a setting that is conducive to me being a staple in my daughter’s lives but has helped me grow along with and develop the maturity that hits with fatherhood.
My background before McCoy was entirely in animal care. My skill set has blossomed since joining McCoy. It has also helped me become more confident in the work I do and in my own abilities.

Sometimes that is a long journey but when you reach that goal with your employee it’s a wonderful feeling of achievement.
How have you developed personally or professionally with McCoy Global?
During the oil field downturn that started in 2014 I slowly lost direct reports as a supervisor due to market conditions. After some time, I found myself out of touch with my leadership capabilities. I was rusty and somewhat under confident. Fast forward to 2019, and I was offered a position as the Product Delivery Supervisor at Broussard, LA facility. Instantaneously my world changed, and I now had 20 or more direct reports that I needed to lead and lead well. My personal and professional development was kickstarted. It was sink or swim time for me. My only ace-in-the-hole was I do not like to lose. I reached back into my vault of experiences and began to lead two groups of employees operating in two different functional areas, mechanical assembly, and machining. There were hiccups and successes, but I grew, and I grew as many as I could take along with me. Late 2023 has brought more opportunities for me to develop both personally and professionally as McCoy looks to further position itself in the market. I’m excited and proud to be a part of the future McCoy.
